District Primary Purpose
To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum and instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Department Primary Purpose
Ensure the efficient operation of the Office of Human Capital and Talent Development.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: High School Graduate Secretarial/Clerical Training Experience:
Two years of secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a public education environment Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate and work effectively with others Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills Proficient in operating a multi-line phone system Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to operate personal computers and software Ability to follow written instructions and meet established deadlines Major Responsibilities and Duties Assist in processing open records requests in a timely manner. Assist in ensuring that open records data is accurate. Assist in filing and updating employee files. Assist in the maintenance of the Human Resource Vault. Answer telephones promptly, courteously, and professionally. Greet and assist visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Direct and assist employees to appropriate personnel. Receive and prepare accurate service records for employees. Assist in receiving and requesting service records from other districts. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Reading Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) Ability to operate phone systems, including fax machine Ability to operate a computer Maintain emotional control under stress Work with frequent interruptions Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
