Position Summary:
The Deputy Chief of Staff provides strategic and operational support to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and ensures the smooth execution of high-level administrative, project management, and coordination functions across the Executive Office. This role serves as a key liaison between the Deputy CEO and internal/external stakeholders, helping to ensure timely decision-making, clear communication, and effective follow-through, and will oversee executive scheduling, cross-departmental coordination, and senior team alignment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted partner to the Deputy CEO in managing priorities, internal initiatives, and executive scheduling. Provide high-level administrative and logistical support including preparation of materials, briefings, and reports in support of meetings, presentations, and strategic planning. Manage day-to-day operations of the Deputy CEO's Office, anticipating needs and resolving issues with professionalism and discretion, in collaboration with the Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to support the overall function of the Executive Office. Monitor tracking systems to report to the Deputy CEO on compliance with city, state, federal, and private funding obligations. Support coordination and follow-up for internal leadership meetings, including SET (Senior Executive Team) meetings and cross-departmental planning sessions. Represent the Deputy CEO's office in internal meetings, tracking next-steps and ensuring completion of deliverables. Draft and edit internal and external communications, including memos, talking points, and reports, often on tight timelines. Foster collaboration across departments by identifying opportunities for integration and streamlining administrative processes. Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and sound judgment. Perform other related duties as required by the Deputy CEO. Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience supporting senior executives, managing staff, or leading cross-functional projects. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Supervisory experience and a collaborative management style. Willingness to become a NYS Notary Public Commitment to the mission and values of The Fortune Society
Travel Requirements : Position is based primarily in Fortune Society's Long Island City Queens location; work may require travel to our other Fortune locations.
