Assistant City Manager
to join our Executive Team. Under the direction of the City Manager, this role provides strategic leadership, executive-level guidance, and administrative direction to advance citywide goals and initiatives. Support the City Manager's vision of a responsive, accessible, and efficient workforce. Collaborate across departments to deliver excellent customer service to residents and colleagues. Represent the City Manager as needed at City Council meetings, civic gatherings, and other official functions. Serve as a trusted leader who motivates teams to achieve meaningful outcomes for the community. Schedule:
Standard hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with evening and weekend work required for Council meetings, workshops, and community events.

Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Assists in resolving Council, citizen and other operational issues. Assists in the compilation, preparation, and presentation of data to City Council in support of citywide programs and budgets. Manages the Strategic Plan's development, implementation, work plan process, performance management and software; coordinates internal teams for updating community dashboards, etc. Leads the development and implementation of long-range plans, strategic plans, annual budget, capital budget, performance measurement, and other policy development documents/tools. Manages the City's Legislative Program. Coordinates and assists in the development and reporting of the City and departmental data and business process models and related database activities and functions through current and new software for performance measurement. Conducts operational reviews; Evaluates existing citywide plans and works with departments as needed to ensure they align with and are integrated with the citywide comprehensive strategic plan. Coordinates and conducts office and workflow process teams in analysis, implementation, and enhancement of work processes. Assists teams in coordinating impact of processes for teams and departments. Works with Citywide leadership to create a culture of continuous improvement and data-based decision-making. Acts as a change agent, developing strategic approaches to overcome organizational resistance to change. Research, review and analyze policies, procedures, best practices, organizational structures, and departmental data to evaluate progress and improved efficiency in meeting City strategic goals. Represents the City at meetings such as board, committee, public hearings, negotiation sessions, and other community related functions Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with community and partners to foster effective collaboration. Directly oversees the City's departmental operations and special projects as directed by the City Manager. Maintains communication with other jurisdiction officials to coordinate regional issues and represent the City; serves as liaison with Department Heads, City Council, City Manager, local civic and cultural organizations, and other external agencies. Prepares reports, agendas, and other information as directed by the City Manager. Assists the City with property acquisition. Performs the duties and responsibilities of the City Manager during absences. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in Public Administration or related field required, supplemented by three (3) years' experience of municipal Director level work (Florida municipal Director experience
preferred ); or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess and maintain a valid state of Florida driver's license. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of public administration, management and strategic planning. Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a busy environment. Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the responsibilities of subordinate department heads. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of local government management, methods, policies and procedures. Considerable knowledge of economic development procedures and programs. Knowledge of program and goal evaluation techniques. Knowledge of accounting budgetary and operational controls. Knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Knowledge of modern information systems, spreadsheets, database management and software. Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze, report and formulate recommended solutions for technical and complex issues that affect all city departments, division's function and activities. Ability to tactfully handle confidential information and controversial problems. Ability to make complex decisions and interpretations in accordance with established rules and procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a self-directed fashion. Ability to speak and present to the public. Work requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment and assignments usually consist only of a statement of desired objectives. Physical Requirements
