Hiring Range: $59,675 - $71,614 Annually

Pay Range: $59,675 - $83,553 Annually

Range Explanation: Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity. Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position. The first review of applications will be on 09/05/2025.

We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join the Pima County Human Resources (HR) Department as a Human Resources Coordinator II supporting our Health Department. In this role, you will serve as a Department Personnel Representative, playing a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating human resources activities within the department.

As the HR Coordinator II, you will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment processes, from job posting to application screening, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires. You will work closely with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment experience for both candidates and the department.

In addition to recruitment, you will provide assistance and guidance to department employees in interpreting HR policies and procedures. Your expertise and knowledge in HR matters will be instrumental in addressing employee concerns and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. You will be the go-to person for employees seeking assistance with understanding their benefits package, managing leave requests, and addressing related inquiries.

Essential Functions :

General Duties/Responsibilities:

Conducts special studies and analyzes data to provide actionable recommendations for HR management; Develops and administers surveys, collects data, and generates reports to support decision-making; Assists in short- and long-term HR planning and goal setting; Maintains confidentiality and up-to-date knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local HR laws and regulations; Represents HR management at meetings and participates in professional development to stay current on best HR practices; Participates in conducting training sessions on HR-related topics; Supports HR projects and may lead special assignments or cross-functional teams as needed; Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:

Collaborates with the Communications Department to build and promote the Pima County employer brand; Supports recruitment efforts by managing job postings, social media campaigns, and recruitment events; Maintains a talent community, generates employee referrals, and tracks recruitment campaign performance; HR Generalist:

Provides professional administrative human resources services to employees and the public; Evaluates and applies applicant selection criteria and procedures to certify eligible applicants; Maintains and tracks FMLA documentation, approvals/denials and extended leaves; communicates anticipated return date with supervisors and employees; Reviews proposed personnel actions for compliance with applicable federal, state and County policies, regulations and procedures by application of County Merit Systems Rules and Personnel Policies/Procedures. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, public or business administration, or other closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of professional-level human resources experience in either compensation/classification, benefits/wellness programs, Human Resources Information Systems, and/or talent acquisition/recruitment.

(Additional relevant experience or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

OR:

Two years of experience with Pima County performing personnel or human resources functions.

Preferred Qualifications : (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

Minimum one (1) year of experience managing recruitment programs and processes. Minimum two (2) years of human resources experience supporting a large department or organization, with experience across a variety of HR subject areas. Minimum two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and/or Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as Workday, NeoGov, or ADP. Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Pima County's policies and procedures.

Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Licenses and Certificates:

Valid driver license is required at time of application . Valid

AZ

driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record.

Special Notice Items: The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Some positions may require completion of a satisfactory personal background investigation by the court or law enforcement agencies, due to the need for access to County Attorney and Court facilities, records, and communication systems.
