This position is with the Indiana University (IU) eTexts program, part of the Learning Technologies division of University Information Technology Services (UITS). This position serves all Indiana University campuses around the state of Indiana.

Job Summary

Department Specific Responsibilities Collaborates, leads, and ensures the successful delivery of critical components of the IU eText initiative serving the faculty, staff, and students at all campuses of Indiana University Leads an ongoing collaboration with Learning Technologies/UITS leadership, faculty, students, publishers, the Unizin consortium, university registrars and university bursars in the effective support and continued growth of eTexts at IU. Manages the business operational functions of the eText initiative, including oversight of financial data, contract negotiations with external vendors (i.e., publishers) and eText ordering workflow as it integrates with other enterprise-level university systems (e.g., SIS). Serves as functional expert/consultant and "eText evangelist" to the campus teaching centers and other internal and external groups (including the Unizin consortium) on best practice use of the eText reader platform . Serves as communication lead for the initiative by writing for/administering related listservs and maintaining a repository (Canvas course site) of user information, e.g., communications, best practice instructional material, etc. Defines business requirements in complex multi-campus environment, and in consideration of other participating Unizin institutions . Maintains a broad understanding of the overall business processes in the functional offices as well as a broad understanding of Indiana University's academic and administrative policies and practices. Understands faculty and student specific needs and workflows related to successful adoption and use of eTexts through modeling and descriptive requirements. Works closely with various project teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for development. Analyzes and reconciles high-volume financial and operational data across IU systems. General Responsibilities

Leads and conducts assessments to understand client business needs and strategic direction and identifies technology solutions to achieve goals; consults with IT staff and business users to identify, analyze, refine and document business requirements and processes and develop associated solutions. Leads and conducts interviews, focus groups, and workshops to establish current and future business requirements; coordinates the communication between stakeholders and service owners in order to effectively implement solutions. Provides advanced business analyses, including construction of data models, business use cases, process flows and technical specifications for transition to IT solutions; establishes system requirements through functional and technical assessments of existing software. Provides stakeholders with necessary analysis documentation for buy-in, leadership decision, and implementation; conducts walk-throughs of recommended system functionality and prototypes with business users in small group or large group settings. Leads system/integration testing efforts; tests changes, enhancements, and new programs or functions to ensure they meet business needs. Makes recommendations to improve, as well as implements, testing, quality assurance, and documentation protocols and procedures for business analysis services. Stays up-to-date on new industry standards, business analysis best practices, emerging technologies, and accessibility standards. May serve as project leader; often provides guidance to junior peers. EDUCATION

Required

Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, business analytics, informatics, analytic or computer related field) Preferred

Master's degree in business WORK EXPERIENCE

5 years of business analysis experience working on complex problems and producing concrete, actionable solutions Preferred

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
