About Nourish Pierce County: Incorporated in 1982, Nourish Pierce County's mission is to provide nutritious food and support service referrals to people in need with compassion, dignity, and respect. With six food bank locations and award-winning mobile food banks which serve 17 additional sites, Nourish serves tens of thousands of individuals each year. With the assistance of hundreds of volunteers, our goal is to provide each person or family with enough food to make three nutritious meals a day for three days. All Nourish Food Banks operate on a self-serve model, allowing clients to select the foods that best meet their family's needs. Position Title : Warehouse Associate

Full Time - Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate:

$21.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Load mobile food banks and prepare for service Pick and accurately build/palletize orders for foodbanks following picking inventory guidelines as directed by the Warehouse Manager Assist in loading or unloading delivery trucks, count , inspect, and receive products into inventory Assist with post-pick, quarterly, and annual inventory and tracking of products. Ensure that food is handled safely and stored safely - per Health Dept/FDA guidelines. Repack bulk foods Package meal kits Driving personal vehicle and assisting at any Nourish Location as assigned Work under the supervision and direction of the warehouse manager Unload, stack, move, and place products accurately and safely into designated areas Operates forklifts, manual and motorized pallet jacks, and hand carts, according to safety guidelines and maintains a high level of attention to safety and food safety protocol Immediately report any concerns or equipment malfunctions to the Warehouse Manager. Accurately label warehouse stock for quick and easy identification and retrieval as instructed Stack, shelve, and stage items for storage and shipment as necessary Follow all warehouse policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations at all times Wear protective clothing and equipment as required (masks, gloves, hair, and beard protection) Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks Completes cleaning and upkeep of the warehouse, administrative space, restrooms, kitchen, and exterior of the facility daily Performs other duties as assigned. Participate in appropriate workshops, conferences, and community meetings related to food banks and administration, and maintain current required certifications Works with Warehouse Manager to identify areas of improvement for completing tasks accurately and in compliance with safety regulations. Complete all safety training Attend and participate in staff meetings Assist with the development or implementation of efforts to reduce food waste throughout Pierce County Treats all staff, volunteers, clients and the public with respect and compassion Assists Nourish staff, volunteers, clients, and partners with other duties as assigned Competencies:

Must be able to perform basic math skills Must be able to read and write in English Must be able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug screening Must have previous experience in loading, unloading, stacking and palletizing techniques Must have a valid Washington State Driver's license Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record Must be able to bend, stoop, sit and lift overhead Some weekend and evening work may be required Ability to interact effectively with the community Demonstrated success in working collaboratively as part of a team Demonstrated computer and mobile phone literacy required, including text messaging; ability to make and receive telephone calls; ability to use the Internet to search and obtain information; sending and receiving email via browser or MS Outlook Accurate collection, entry and management of operations and logistics data Must be able to provide accurate and timely written or verbal information when requested by phone, over email, or as part of regular reporting requirements Ability to communicate effectively with a broad and diverse audience Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consecutively safely, without restrictions. Must be able to work independently Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Need to be able to multitask and think logically Must be able to communicate detailed information clearly in person, in writing, by phone, and by email Required Education, Skills and Experience:

Ability to pass Washington State Patrol Background Check Completion of high school or GED Current food handler's permit or within 2 weeks of hire
