Job Summary
The HR Employee Engagement Coordinator will have the autonomy to be creative and innovative to identify and implement opportunities, specialized programs, and events as the coordinator for the Employee Development and Engagement Program. This position will develop and implement strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and connections within Minneapolis College. Works closely with other departments to create a positive and inclusive work environment by designing and managing programs that promote employee growth, teamwork, improve communication and foster well-being.
Assess the needs of supervisors and staff to develop both professional training plans according to individualized performance needs, retirement, and benefits throughout their employment cycle.
Develop and administer new employee orientation, ensure compliance with annual mandatory supervisory and employee training. Serve as a facilitator and/or moderator on varying engagement programming and initiatives.
This position will coordinate and develop employee recognition events and work closely with the Division of Equity and Inclusion to develop culturally relevant training opportunities as it pertains to the strategic priorities of Minneapolis College.
The incumbent will work with other HR professional staff on hiring procedures and recruitment efforts within the Division of Human Resources and Workforce Equity. As a member of the HR division, the individual in this position must be able to respond to employees and supervisors about matters of personnel, college policies as well as insurance and other benefits.
The position is in the Commissioner's Plan and requires a high degree of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality of private personnel information. The work of the position is completed in accordance with state
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administer and oversee the Employee Engagement and Professional Development Program Provide employee and labor relations advising, engage in hiring services and administer training for employees, supervisors and managers. Develop and implement a comprehensive New Employee Orientation and training Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Minimum Qualifications
Professional level of experience; or an equivalent combination of education in Human Resources, Training and Development, compensation, classification, employee or labor relations, recruitment, selection and/or affirmative action/equal opportunity practices Ability to maintain confidentiality and apply data privacy practices, policies, and laws sufficient to maintain confidentiality of all personal and/or protected information. Creative ability to initiate, create and implement organized plans and projects in various forms of skills training for employees. Experience designing, developing, and delivering training that engages learners and achieve engagement and satisfaction objectives. Strong verbal communication skills to clearly explain, discuss, communicate, and present information, policies and procedures to potential employees, staff, and various levels of supervisors Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and develop effective relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and at different levels Strong time management and organizational skills. Self-motivated. Proactive and committed to continuous improvement Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software programs sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials such as memos, procedures, reports, presentations, maintain records of training, development activities, and attendance Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities Physical requirements :
Be able to sit or stand for periods of times. Lift up to 15 lbs.
