Front Desk Personnel For Stem Learning Center
Under general supervision serve as Front Desk personnel for the STEM Learning Center on the Taylorsville Campus, evening hours, 5:00 pm to closing. Aid students and visitors accessing STEM Learning services. Serve as center ambassador when facilitating assistance and manage STEM resource library. Essential duties include using best practices and department policies in assisting students with the services provided by STEM Learning, responding courteously and promptly to inquiries and providing front desk customer service, assisting guests, staff, faculty, and students with information and direction, acquiring and demonstrating basic knowledge and skills in office work, communication skills: verbal, written, and listening skills, collaborating with SME students, faculty, and staff, maintaining attendance and punctuality, professionalism and attention to details, assisting in operations of the STEM Learning department, including supporting staff and tutors, serving as department ambassador promoting STEM Learning services, learning, managing, and assisting in the administration of TutorTrac, communicating with other offices and personnel on campus regarding scheduled activities and events, assisting in maintaining supply closets, overall cleanliness of the center and managing office needs, maintaining a professional atmosphere in the center and helping keep it clean, assisting with projects or other needs of STEM Learning department, as well as running errands, as needed, closing or opening STEM Learning Center as needed, participating in Growth, Planning, and Support (GPS) meetings with supervisor on regular schedule, ability to work in a loud, open, heavily populated area, excellent customer relations and telephone skills, knowledge of general office procedures and methods, strong interpersonal skills, good listener and trustworthy of confidential student records and student information, ability to set priorities, organize tasks, and take initiative within established parameters, maintaining professional and positive attitude, adapting to new policies, taking direction and when necessary, working independently, ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College, ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, and flexibility to work evening hours, 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Preferred qualifications include one (1) to two (2) years in customer service or related field, professionalism in manner and appearance, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, demonstrate strong communication skills, and availability to work Monday through Thursday, evening hours.
