Our client is looking to fill the role of Hosiery/ Knitwear Associate Designer. The Associate Designer supports the design team in a range of creative and technical ways. This role is hands-on and interactive with multiple teams and a great opportunity to grow in design and product development expertise. Categories of focus will be in Socks.
Responsibilities: Assist with seasonal design for socks including pattern layouts, colorations and linesheet building Execute design and CAD updates based on sales & customer feedback Request seasonal lab dips, strike-offs and market samples through overseas teams Request all reference materials for design and product development through overseas teams Build swatch and trim cards and management of design libraries Management of in-house samples and sample libraries Work with overseas teams to ensure product development & calendar milestones are met Conduct initial sample reviews and provide constructive feedback Regular use of PLM systems including data entry and file uploads Management of PLM systems to ensure accuracy throughout design process Work collaboratively with Manufacturers and Production teams to ensure targets costs, quality and sample expectations are met. Ensure timelines are met to meet calendar and sales deadlines. Work collaboratively with Licensing, Production and Sales teams for sample reviews and hand-offs Work collaboratively with the Design Director for all creative direction and department needs Required Qualifications:
Highly organized and ability to manage various deadlines Few years experience in hosiery/knitwear Adaptable to working on multiple product lines and brands Experience in knitwear product design. Experience with socks and multi-packs a bonus An eye for color, and pattern layouts preferred. Must have an eye for detail Experience working with overseas vendors Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems and Mac platforms Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) Comfortable with taking a lead in meetings with internal and external teams on a regular basis If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
