Job Title: Azure Cloud Architect

The

Azure Cloud Architect

will be responsible for architecting and deploying secure, scalable, and resilient Azure-based solutions aligned with organizational compliance, risk, and operational objectives. This role will work cross-functionally with IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Business Systems, Security, Information Governance, and Compliance teams to ensure deployed cloud environments meet industry and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

Develop automation scripts for repeatable deployments

Define tagging, cost controls, policy enforcement, and identity/access management (IAM) strategies Collaboration & Support

Partner with application owners, IT infrastructure, and security teams to ensure smooth migration and ongoing operations of workloads in Azure

Support investigations, incident response, and security audits involving cloud assets Innovation & Optimization

Continuously evaluate new Azure services, automation capabilities, and tools to enhance productivity and reduce risk

Guide optimization of cost, performance, and operational efficiency across the Azure estate Security & Compliance

Implement and govern security best practices including Azure Policy, Azure Key Vault, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Azure Security Center

Collaborate with Information Security to enforce encryption (at rest/in transit), DLP, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, such as ISO 27001 Proficiencies

Expert proficiency in deployment and optimization of Azure services, including:

Networking (VNet, NSG, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute)

Identity (Entra ID)

Compute (VMs, AVD)

Storage (Blob, Files, Disk)

Expert proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), scripting (PowerShell), and DevOps pipelines

Familiarity with secure collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Intune, Conditional Access)

Proven experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (advanced degree preferred)

7+ years of IT infrastructure or cloud experience, with at least 4+ years focused on Azure cloud architecture

Relevant certifications, such as:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect

Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent
