Job Summary
This position is located in the Office of Government Ethics, Board of Ethics and Government Accountability (BEGA), an independent organization responsible for investigation and enforcement of the District's ethics laws and regulations regarding District government employees, programs, and operations.
This position is responsible for performing administrative, programmatic, and clerical assignments to support BEGA and its operations. Incumbent applies broad and extensive clerical and administrative procedures, methods, and techniques to support management and their program.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Support Assistant performs advanced administrative, programmatic, and technical duties to ensure the smooth operation of the assigned office or program area. This role involves applying a broad range of clerical and administrative procedures to support managers, supervisors, and senior specialists. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and verifying documents; maintaining records; and compiling data for reports.
The incumbent manages project calendars, tracks deadlines, and communicates important dates to staff. They serve as a liaison between the supervisor and departmental employees, providing timely and accurate information related to reporting requirements.
The position also involves coordinating the submission of various reportssuch as progress, status, and fiscal updatesand reconciling monthly data in automated systems when needed. Additionally, the Program Support Assistant offers guidance on procedural and policy matters to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards and keeps staff informed of current program issues.
Qualifications and Education
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, the incumbent must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
An Associate's degree plus two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in an office environment is preferred.

Work is performed in an office setting that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Normal safety precautions are required.
