JOB SUMMARY To perform general administrative and technical duties required to support activities and operations of the Information Systems Division.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:

Essential duties and responsibilities:
Attend work regularly and timely.
Adapt and learn new technical skills.
Responds to request for information and provides necessary customer service.
Receive and document help desk calls.
Operate commonly-used software, hardware, and other technology equipment.
Maintain Information Technology documentation and inventory of equipment and related items.
Provide daily support and maintenance of hardware and software applications.
Perform diagnostic and repair activities as directed by senior staff.
Provide training for users in operation of technology devices and systems.
Provide staff support for a variety of meetings.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Exercise sound judgment and rational thinking under stressful circumstances Evaluate various options and alternatives and choose an appropriate and reasonable course of action. Operate effectively in an economically and culturally diverse environment

Walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time Climbing stairs or ladders; stooping; squatting Moving and lifting loads of approximately 25-85 lbs.

Operating assigned equipment, including computers and other electronic devices.
Use proper English, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Communicating with others.

Utilize general office practices, and automated systems, both for report creation and research purposes.
Upgrade knowledge and skill base to adapt to changing technologies.
Effectively use Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

General understanding of information systems professional careers and the educational/training path thereof.
Comprehension, and practice, of appropriate business etiquette.

Enhancement of technical, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or related degree plan. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school. Those enrolled must have and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. If hiring date occurs during summer break, must have been enrolled in the prior semester or enrolled in the upcoming summer or fall semester.
Working knowledge of common operating systems, and software applications.
Basic understanding of computers and computer networking is preferred.
Must have reliable transportation to/from assigned job location.
A valid Class C Driver's License with a good driving record as defined by City Policy.
No experience is necessary.
