As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first face a patient or visitor sees when they walk into one of our clinics. You will greet patients and visitors, complete patient registration, update records, collect payments, and help ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.

Your Impact
- Patient Interaction: Engage with patients in a welcoming and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing assistance in person and over the phone. Include greeting patients, registering them, handling insurance and billing inquiries, and assisting ill or distraught patients as needed.
- Payment Collection: Collect payments, insurance co-pays, and prescription charges following clinic policies. Proactively request a card on file and follow up on patient balances to ensure timely payments.
- Clinic Coordination & Collaboration: Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient clinic operations. Manage patient reservations (online and walk-in) and registrations, assist with scheduling referrals, and navigate multiple software systems per protocols.
- Front Desk Management: Answer and direct phone calls professionally, keep the reception area organized, and perform general administrative duties (photocopying, filing, daily logs).
- CMD Technology & Offerings: Become familiar with services offered, costs, and use software systems for reservations and electronic medical records.
Required Availability
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and/or non-consecutive days.
- Full-time: three 12-hour shifts per week with at least four shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
- Part-time: two 12-hour shifts per week with at least two shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
- Per diem: four 12-hour shifts per month, ideally one shift per week.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to travel to up to three other ConvenientMD locations within one hour of the primary clinic when needed and travel for training shifts outside of the primary clinic within a one hour commute.
Who You Are
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills; able to juggle multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, authentic, and patient-focused; capable of creating a sense of belonging for patients.
- Technically savvy: proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Effective communicator and cross-collaborator; able to establish positive relationships with patients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Team player with initiative and motivation to drive results and improve processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to understand and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Trustworthy: ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
Bonus Qualifications
- Medical Receptionist certification.
- Experience in medical receptionist roles or similar customer service positions.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic insurance processes.
- Experience with electronic records management software and HIPAA documentation.
- Experience with insurance billing and coding information.
