Albany State University seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Reporting directly to the President, the Provost serves as the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), overseeing all academic programs and initiatives to ensure the highest standards of excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Provost will shape the academic vision of the university, fostering innovation, inclusivity, and student success. Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction for all academic units, including the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, Education, and Professional Studies, Darton College of Health Professions, Graduate Studies, and Distance Learning programs. Oversee development, implementation, and assessment of academic programs to ensure quality and relevance. Promote faculty excellence through recruitment, retention, and professional development. Develop and implement strategies to enhance student recruitment, retention, and graduation rates. Collaborate with university leadership on strategic planning to advance academic priorities and the public affairs mission. Manage academic budgets and resources, advocating for the needs of academic units and ensuring fiscal responsibility. Ensure accreditation compliance and lead continuous improvement through assessment of programs and outcomes. Foster partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance the university’s role in the community. Qualifications

An earned doctorate/terminal degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of five years of administrative experience. A distinguished record of teaching, scholarly publications, and/or creative accomplishments. Successful experience at the dean level or above, with budget, personnel, and evaluation responsibilities. Experience in strategic planning, program assessment, and policy development for academic units. Experience in university advancement and fundraising. Experience in developing or securing extramural grant and contract funding. Salary
