**CLINICAL INTERIVEIWNG--MANAGER PROVIDES SECONDARY APPROVAL*

Shift: INPT CM SW days 8-hr shift, 5 days a week with rotating weekends
  • About Facility:
    • 401 15th Ave SE, Puyallup, WA 98372
    • Level III Trauma Center
    • Beds: 375 Licensed Beds
    • COVID vaccine is now being required at MultiCare
  • Unit Information:
    • Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of recent acute inpatient social work/case management experience required. 4 years of overall social work experience required
    • Will you accept a first-time traveler? No
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
    • Inpatient, adults, no peds. Will see ICU, PCU, MedSurg, and ER patients
    • If candidate has predominantly worked at children's hospitals, they will not be a good fit for here.
    • Will not care for L&D or NICU
  • Patient Ratios:
    • 1:15-20
  • Required License and Certifications:
    • Master's in social work and WA state License
    • Emergency Room Assignment: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is required
    • Inpatient Unit: LICSW preferred. Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) required, but proof of current supervision status needed.
    • BLS not required
  • Skills required:
    • Acute care case management experience is a must
    • Behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, discharge planning for post-acute placements (understanding SNF level of care, understanding regulatory requirements)
    • If traveler is scheduled to work, they could also be the remote resource Social Worker for the Off Campus EDs in the area.
    • EPIC experience required

  • Technology/Equipment:
    • EMR: EPIC - required
  • Floating: If yes, where?
    • None
  • Orientation (facility and unit):
    • Approximately 1-3 days; need to be prepared to jump in to see patients day one.
    • Could expect to have patient interventions on the first day but will be paired with another social worker
  • Scheduling:
    • Weekend rotation: Every other or every third, depending on needs of the department
    • On call? No
    • Holiday Expectations: Will be required to work at least 1 holiday, can work more if wanted
    • Approval of RTO: to go through manager. All RTO must be requested up front
    • Shift times:
      • Depending on where the need is, could work 8s or 12s. Manager will discuss further. If ER, will be 12h shifts
    • Schedule cycle: manager will make the schedule. Will get the schedule a few weeks prior to schedule start.
  • Other notes:
    • Scrub Color: No SCRUBS; dress code is business casual
    • Parking: parking lots or garage, free parking
    • Breaks are required
    • Overtime: Must request if they need to stay late for patient care; this is subject to denial. There is the possibility of picking up extra shifts if wanted. Travelers are allowed to pick up shifts at other MHS facilities
