Job Summary
Trains and coaches team members on safety requirements and best practices. . Conducts safety training for new hire orientation, on-the-job training, monthly safety meetings, and specialized safety topics. Teaches and monitors proper job procedures providing coaching as necessary. Monitors for any issues in working conditions.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Ensures all new hires understand required work safety instructions before assignment to the job. 2.
Assists with hazard assessments to include Ergonomic Worksite Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, PPE Hazard Assessments, LOTO Procedures, Accident/Incident investigations and Safety Inspections. 3.
Maintains all safety files and records in accordance with standards set by local, state, and federal laws and regulations to include OSHA and all auditing entities. 4.
Ensures new hires follow all ergonomic program requirements including ramp in, rotation, early intervention, comfort surveys and proper job methods. 5.
Translates documentation and communications (i.e., write ups, trainings, etc.). 6.
Monitors on the job safety performance following ramp in program. Escalates concerns. 7.
Ensures all new hire exercises are performed. 8.
Ensures all training and testing materials are available. 9.
Facilitates PIT (hand jack and forklift) training and testing. 10.
Provides administrative and tactical support for the safety team.
Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to learn and apply company policies Ability to understand and implement schedules and product flow Basic understanding of safety and health programs and how they are administered Good learning agility Organization, time-management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills Ability to troubleshoot and solve routine problems using established standards Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy in data Good communication and teamwork skills Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting (i.e., Microsoft Suites)
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
Work will be performed in a variety of conditions including a climate-controlled office environment(s) and in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment. The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
