JOB OVERVIEW Ensure the safety and effectiveness of all engineering processes, systems on CFM56 products. Works within a team and must be able to cooperate with other coworkers to ensure the success of a project. Effective communication plays a role between Engineers, Customers, and Production.
Responsibilities: Review and analyze customer provided Work scope and prepare a Work scope for the Shop. Analyze customer provided LLP Status, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs) and any other documents related to Engine induction. Prepare the incoming documentation (LLP Status, ADs, SBs and Configuration Status). Lead the Gate 0 meeting with Production, Inspection, Technical Records and Customer Services. Support the Shop Floor with any technical issues during Disassembly, Assembly and Inspection process. Perform Configuration/Part Number interchangeability verification as requested by Production and/or Supply Chain. Prepare technical findings reports. Open CSC Case with CFMI/GE and/or Boeing based on the findings as request by the customer and follow-up accordingly. Add/amend the Job Card in Quantum as needed. Review and analyze any new ADs issued by FAA by preparing the internal AD review form for the AD Review Board. Participate and provide necessary support in the Material Coordination Meeting. Support the Engineering department activities as required on day-to-day tasks. Qualifications: 3+ years’ experience in Engineering or five yrs of practical technician on CFM56-3, -5 and -7B Engines, Engine Modules, Engine Sub-modules, and Configuration. Must be able to interpret Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins. Must be able to navigate, read and understand Engine Shop Manual (ESM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) and all other Engine related Manuals. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field or equivalent. Knowledge in ERP System (Quantum) Ability to be both strategic and tactical Proficient with MS Office.
Job Demands: Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
