Develop, maintain, test, and review code for software libraries and tools used in training, visualizing, and deploying neural networks on Lightmatter hardware accelerators. Adapt standard machine learning methods to best leverage the modern heterogeneous computing environment which includes our revolutionary computing chips. Work closely with Machine Learning Scientists to develop and productize novel machine learning algorithms for computer vision, NLP, and recommendation applications. Work with the Field Engineering team to understand real world customer scenarios and provide guidance on model architecture and implementations that take advantage of our hardware. Understand, analyze, and exploit the interplay between machine learning accelerator software and hardware, including data preprocessing, streaming, batching, quantization, adaptors, and distributed workloads for Large Language Model (LLMs.) Create Lightmatter-specific tools that can interoperate between Machine Learning ML frameworks.

Minimum Requirements

Masters degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related discipline, or foreign degree equivalent, plus four (4) years of experience in production software engineering.

The experience (which may be gained concurrently) must also include:

4 years of experience in Python and C++, including software architecture and development in a multi-team project; 3 years of experience with deep learning; 3 years of experience in deep learning programming languages, frameworks, and tooling, including PyTorch, HuggingFace Transformers, and ONNX; 3 years of experience with mixed-precision computing in deep learning frameworks; 2 years of experience with one or more distributed training approaches such as DDP, FSDP, or DeepSpeed; 2 years of experience with neural network workload simulation for hardware accelerator design; and 2 years of experience with multidimensional data visualization and statistical analysis, including building charts and graphs with Matplotlib, LaTeX, or similar.

Job Location: Lightmatter, Inc., 800 W. El Camino Real, Ste 350, Mountain View, CA 94040. (Telecommuting 2-3 days per week). Less than ~5% of travel to the Boston office for the purpose of team collaboration or company events.

40 hours per week, 9:00 am

5:00 pm. Salary $264,514 per year.
