Patient Care Assistant

The Endoscopy Unit provides total gastrointestinal care. Ninety percent of the patients are outpatient, and the remaining ten percent are inpatients or transfers from another facility. There are approximately 20,000 cases performed in the unit annually. PCA supports procedure room turnover, scope cleaning and recovery, patient escort/liaison, and stocking supplies. Endoscope scope processing is part of the PCA role in the Endo unit contributing to the overall infection control program. Schedule: 40 hours | Day/Evening Rotating (4) 10 hours 8a-6:30pm | No nights Alternating weekend/holidays required Endoscopy Department requires candidate to have a professional license/certification to be considered $750.00 Sign on bonus available Job Summary

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Licenses and Credentials: Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Emergency Medical Technician - Basic [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services preferred Nursing Assistant [LNA - Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Board of Nursing preferred Experience: Experience working in patient care/elder care 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong patient/customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
