Document Specialist I
Position Title: Document Specialist I Work Location: Minnetonka, Minnesota 55305 Assignment Duration: 12 Months Position Summary: The job requires auditing documents and US Customs declarations for accuracy and data integrity. Key Responsibilities: Tracking down the correct documents Ensuring all data is accurate in a timely manner Communicating with other internal and external parties when necessary Ability to work independently after training Identifying and reporting errors, issues, and findings Functional in Excel, Word, and snipping tools Prior SAP experience helpful. Prior auditing experience in any field preferred but not required. Knowledge of US imports, including HTSUS and country of origin preferred, but not required. Must have high attention to detail and ability to multitask. Notes: Reviewing and verifying import documentation provided by service providers Comparing document details against checklists to ensure data validity Matching product information, especially for R&D products, against SAP records Making informed decisions when documentation is incomplete or unclear Independent, detail-oriented role with minimal supervision Work primarily done via email with limited meetings or calls Suitable for candidates who are introverted and prefer working alone Opportunity for full-time conversion based on performance Training lasts about 6 weeks but depends on how fast the candidate learns Responsibilities include auditing documents, verifying product details, sending clarifications, and maintaining audit trails. Must-have skills include detail orientation, independence, and document verification experience. Nice-to-have skills include import/export experience, data entry accuracy, and SAP exposure. Education: Associate or Bachelor's preferred; High school acceptable with experience. Stable work history preferred; external auditors/overqualified candidates not ideal. Independent work style critical; minimal interaction required. Conversion potential; overqualified discouraged to prevent quick turnover.
