The Chemical Inventory Specialist (CIS) is responsible for the coordination and execution of the annual chemical inventory to help maintain a near "real-time" inventory. This includes but is not limited to the following: Coordinates the Annual Chemical Inventory. Provides on-site/virtual instruction/training to all campus personnel, which includes faculty and staff regarding chemical safety, regulatory requirements, CHIMERA (UNLV's chemical inventory software platform), and safe work practices. Oversees the chemical information, quality assurance process on an annual basis on all campuses. Oversees and manages the UNLV CHIMERA system as the UNLV system administrator. Collaborates with the safety software team to help as changes are made within CHIMERA including beta testing new programs or functions, and make suggestions as needed to help improve the existing chemical inventory processes. Responsible for monthly reporting of current analytics. Coordinates and supervises the Chemical Inventory Team. Additionally, the CIS position is responsible for the administration and collection of critical hazard information including the acquisition of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for products in inventory on all UNLV campuses including but not limited to Shadow Lane Campus, Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building as well as Nevada State University (NSU). In addition, the Chemical Inventory Specialist will assist other NSHE entities associated with Business Center South when applicable. Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1 to 3 years of experience. And 1 to 3 years supervisory experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date. Accepted Equivalencies for Degree Requirement

UNLV may consider additional relevant experience in place of formal education requirements: In lieu of a bachelor's degree, applicants may qualify with four additional years of relevant experience, or with an associate's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience. For positions requiring a master's degree, acceptable equivalents include: Six additional years of relevant experience A bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience An associate degree plus four additional years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications

3 to 5 years of experience. And 3 to 5 years supervisory experience. Knowledge of the following: NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Classifications, understanding the specific hazards for health, fire and physical. GHS (Globally Harmonized System) Classifications, information collected from the Safety Data Sheets to assist First Responders.
