Senior RF Electronics Technician
Location: State College, PA Pay Rate: $35 $45 per hour (DOE) Schedule: 9/80 Shift MondayThursday 7:00 AM4:30 PM, Every Other Friday 7:00 AM3:30 PM (Flexible) Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Electronics Test & Calibration Technician to support avionics and RF product testing, troubleshooting, and calibration in a precision laboratory environment. This position involves collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate setup, calibration, and quality control of products and equipment. The ideal candidate has extensive RF, analog, and digital troubleshooting experience, works well under detailed technical procedures, and thrives in a team-based setting. Key Responsibilities
Perform testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of avionics and RF electronics. Work from drawings, diagrams, schematics, and customer specifications to diagnose and resolve issues. Utilize test equipment such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and environmental monitoring instruments. Construct, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain RF test equipment to ensure operational accuracy. Document test results, findings, and corrective actions in accordance with quality standards. Perform mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on subassemblies and final assemblies. Conduct RF circuitry calibration and execute equipment calibration procedures. Assist in developing or refining manufacturing methods and processes to improve efficiency and quality. Transport test equipment and components (up to 30 lbs) as needed. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or an Associates degree with at least 2 years of related experience. Proficient in troubleshooting RF/Digital circuits to the component level. Strong understanding of RF theory, analog and digital electronics. Experience in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings and Bills of Material. Hands-on experience with test equipment, including signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power meters. Good hand-eye coordination for microscope-based work. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Preferred Qualifications
AA Degree in electronics or equivalent technical discipline. Experience with environmental testing and metrology (temperature/humidity instruments). Knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC-610 standards. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Prior experience contributing to continuous improvement processes. Soft Skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills. Detail-oriented with methodical problem-solving abilities. Punctual and dependable with excellent time management. Work Environment
Lab-based setting with ESD-protected work areas and precision test equipment. Occasional travel to alternate facilities for specialized testing.
