Join the FinOps team at Workday! FinOps is a group of finance, business, and engineering professionals who collaborate to improve the business value of cloud spending. Chartered to create cloud cost awareness and accountability, we use data to make decisions on cloud resource use and optimizing spend to reduce waste and improve efficiency. About the Role As Director of FinOps, we need someone who will evaluate, diagnose, and document existing processes to improve performance and quality, as well as develop and apply metrics for process and performance measurement and provide guidance on re-engineering techniques. Additionally, we need subject matter expertise and project management guidance for large enterprise initiatives. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic visioning: You will develop and drive the FinOps strategy, aligning cloud financial goals with broader organizational objectives. Budgeting and forecasting: You will develop and handle public cloud spending budgets and create accurate financial forecasts that integrate with the company's overall financial planning. Cost allocation: You will implement transparent cost allocation and "showback/chargeback" models to distribute cloud costs to specific teams, departments, and business units. Financial modeling and analysis: You will create and maintain financial models to predict cloud costs, track spending against budgets, and analyze cost trends and anomalies. Vendor and contract management: You will negotiate contracts and manage relationships with cloud service providers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and discounts. Business intelligence: You will translate complex financial data into meaningful business insights, often by building dashboards and reports. About You Basic Qualifications 10+ years experience defining, designing, and implementing solutions to achieve desired business outcomes 7+ years leadership experience leading multi-functional teams 3+ years of working knowledge of major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their specific billing structures, pricing models, and services 3+ years using native cloud cost management tools (e.g. AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, etc.) and third-party FinOps platforms (e.g. CloudHealth, Apptio, etc.) Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Other Qualifications Outstanding written, visual representation, and verbal communication skills. Experience with automating manual processes through systems requirements analysis, design and documentation. Strong ability to establish relationships, influence without authority, and drive alignment across teams with multifaceted strengths and leadership levels. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills; flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Passion for customer service and commitment to delivering high-quality results. FinOps certifications, such as those from the FinOps Foundation, are desired Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
