Fullstack Engineer

Standard Fleet is building the next generation of fleet management software, accelerating the commercial adoption of electric vehicles by empowering businesses to automate, protect, and scale their operations. Our dashboard applications and APIs integrate insights and controls that save our customers time and money. We specialize in Tesla and other internet-connected EVs, setting a new standard in the fleet management industry that was previously dominated by older, hardware-reliant companies.

Canvas Ventures . Our founder and CEO, David Hodge, previously founded a transportation startup that was acquired by Apple. In 2024, our revenue grew by nearly
6X . We're a team of ex-engineers from companies like
Apple, Uber, Tesla, and Yelp , and we're looking to hire at least two Fullstack Engineers to help us continue this rapid growth. What You'll Do
Work across the stack
building features for our web application and backend using
Typescript (React), Go, and Python . Collaborate with design, customer experience, and sales teams
to define, design, and ship new features. Understand our customers' needs
and the electric fleet market to make informed product decisions. Help drive the
technical direction
of our product while making thoughtful trade-offs between speed and maintainability. Take ownership of features
from start to finish, architecting solutions for complex problems. Identify and address issues in real-time
as fleets use our software in their day-to-day operations. Engage with customers directly
to understand their needs. What We're Looking For 4+ years of experience
as a fullstack software engineer working on high-quality production software. We're open to candidates with 3-4 years of experience if they have good tenure at a top startup like MongoDB or Stripe. Experience with
Typescript (React) and Python . Knowledgeable about React internals (how memory, rendering, and hooks work). Experience in a
startup or small company
with a high bar for engineering. You've
previously built and scaled features from scratch , and can demonstrate ownership and the ability to work from first principles. Experience with
GCP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis . You are
customer-driven , keeping customer requirements paramount and focusing on delivering solutions for their needs. You are
fast-moving
and frustrated by the slow pace of larger, bureaucratic companies. You have
strong ownership
over your work but are also happy to jump in and contribute outside your direct responsibilities when necessary. A
passion for EVs and sustainable transportation . A
CS degree
from a top 30 university is preferred. Able to be on-site
in our San Francisco, SoMa office
