Westaff has an immediate opening for an experienced Shipping/ Receiving Clerk for a great company in South Baton Rouge!
Must have 4-5 years experience in
receiving, storing, and moving goods and materials, products, and/or equipment in a warehouse setting.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, no weekend work!
Pay: $18-22 an hour, depending on experience.
Must have Forklift and Pallet Jack experience as well as Computer experience and excellent customer service and communication skills.
Performs activities associated with receiving, storing, and moving goods and materials, products, and/or equipment into or from the Company's warehouse or other storage facilities or areas including, but not limited to: Loading or unloading transport vehicles manually or by means of appropriate material handling equipment. Unpacking, moving, shelving, and/or arranging items in their designated storage locations. Periodically inspecting or otherwise monitoring stock for deterioration, damage, or expiration and recording and reporting the findings of such activities to the Warehouse Manager. Periodically inventorying stock Filling internal requisitions for stock from inventory in accordance with specifications on bills of material, pick tickets, sales orders, or other instructions. Ensuring that the warehouse and all other storage facilities or areas are orderly and clean at all times. Ensuring that all material handling equipment is maintained in good repair and that all routine and required maintenance performed is recorded in the respective equipment logs. Receiving shipments of materials and verifying their correctness Inspecting shipments for visible damage Inspecting accepted shipments to confirm conformity of the goods received to the corresponding purchase order Moving received and accepted goods to their designated quarantine area for examination and analyses Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 1. Education: Two (2) years of college preparatory classes; high school education preferred. 2. Experience: Five (5) year work related experience.
Physical Strength: Ability to stand and lift, move, and manipulate objects of various sizes, shapes and weight for extended periods of time. Routinely lifts containers weighing from 25 to 50 pounds.
