is a hybrid onsite role based in Webster, MA, with responsibility for territory management in Southeastern Massachusetts. Responsibilities Manage the business development and sales of products for assigned territories. Oversee Business Development Representatives in implementing programs and policies designed to increase product volume. Manage the execution of territory and regional business plans including business development. Support key accounts in assigned territories and drive growth and sales for independent agent business, including Branch agents.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred. Experience:

7 - 9 years or Associates Degree equivalent plus 9 - 11 years. Knowledge:

Understanding of industry practices, standards, and concepts within the field and broad business segment; solid management knowledge. Decision Making:

Influences development of overall objectives, exercises judgment within broadly defined policies, and may modify operating policies; problems are generally diverse and complex.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Insurance brokers or agents license and/or property and casualty license preferred; strong knowledge of the independent agent base and competitors in the assigned territory. Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills. Proven track record in sales and people management. Ability to work independently with remote supervision. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Manages the performance and development of territory Business Development Representatives and sales programs designed to increase premium volume of targeted lines of business. Locates and appoints new business prospects and alternative channel opportunities to increase market share; visits agents and evaluates agency business and market share. Reviews and creates reports based on local market knowledge, competitor analysis, and agency profitability and loss ratios; responsible for profitability of assigned agencies including branch agents. Develops strong relationships with agents to increase production and profitability; keeps agents informed of product enhancements and suggests methods to improve performance. Works with Business Development Representatives to ensure underwriting guidelines and policies are adhered to; serves as liaison with agencies. Oversees training of new products and web-enabled systems with the agency force (Personal Auto, Commercial Lines). Administers training, development and sales production for partner agencies and others as applicable. Solicits and negotiates prospective agency appointments and/or book transfers. Analyzes and participates in the Agency Evaluation Committee on a quarterly basis to assess profitability of agencies and monitor probation.
