Overview
We are seeking a dynamic leader to serve as AECOMs Global Mining Market Sector Lead. This role involves spearheading all aspects of our global initiatives in the mining sector, focusing on permitting, mine infrastructure, and mining closure segments. You will collaborate with Business Line(s) leadership in Water and Environment to craft and implement strategies that position AECOM as a trusted advisor and innovator for mining clients worldwide. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Market Growth: Collaborate with leadership across AECOMs Business Lines to define and execute the global growth strategy for the Mining Market Sector. Build and sustain strategic relationships with global clients, delivering tailored solutions and exceptional service. Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in emerging and established markets, aligning efforts with AECOMs strategic objectives. Drive initiatives to expand AECOMs presence in the mining sector, securing new projects and partnerships. Conduct comprehensive market research to inform proactive strategies for client engagement and sector growth. Anticipate geopolitical, ESG, and regulatory shifts, ensuring alignment with AECOMs strategic objectives. Executive Networking & Relationship Building: Develop and maintain a robust network of C-suite and board-level relationships across mining operators, financial institutions, regulators, and NGOs. Cultivate relationships that unlock enterprise-scale opportunities. Represent AECOM at forums and conferences to align with strategic priorities and elevate our profile. Operational Excellence & Governance: Align regional and global teams to foster collaboration and eliminate silos. Champion AECOMs culture of ethics, safety, diversity, and innovation. Oversee mining projects to ensure client satisfaction, industry compliance, and sustainability. Talent Development & Thought Leadership: Mentor and lead a global team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Guide the next generation of leaders through the Global Business Lines Technical Practice Network (TPN). Deliver thought leadership through high-profile participation in key industry associations, to elevate AECOM brand and profile within the mining industry. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience in the mining industry, with a proven track record in leadership and project management; a combination of experience gained while working within the mining industry and working in a professional services consulting capacity to the mining industry preferred. Demonstrated expertise in global client account management, with a proven ability to drive growth and manage complex relationships. Extensive knowledge of global mining markets, technologies, and regulatory environments. Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration. Exceptional business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities. Willingness and ability to travel globally to meet client and project needs.
