Our client, a Jewish university in NYC, is looking for a Communications Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the voice of the university across all communication channels. This individual will be responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and monitoring both internal and external communications strategies that reflect the mission, values, and distinct identity of the institution. With deep experience in higher education and a strong understanding of Judaism, the Communications Manager will collaborate with recruitment, development, alumni relations, and academic leadership teams to ensure consistent and impactful messaging. Lead the development and execution of the universitys internal and external communications strategy. Manage content strategy across digital platforms, print publications, newsletters, and social media. Collaborate with recruitment, development, alumni relations, and academic teams to align messaging and campaigns. Promote the achievements of students, faculty, and alumni through compelling storytelling and media outreach. Oversee the communication of public events, recruitment efforts, and fundraising initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and act as the universitys spokesperson when appropriate. Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all communications. Monitor and measure communication effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed. Provide strategic guidance and leadership in crisis communications. Support the creation of speeches, press releases, and other executive communications. Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in communications, with a strong background in higher education. Demonstrated understanding of Jewish culture, traditions, and community life; experience working in Jewish organizations preferred. Proven expertise in developing and implementing communications strategies. Strong writing, editing, and content development skills across multiple platforms. Experience in media relations and public relations. Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and departments. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience with crisis communications and managing sensitive issues. Familiarity with digital communication tools, content management systems, and social media platforms. Details
Location: New York City (hybrid role requiring 3-4 days onsite per week). Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 base.
