Optimus Health Care is hiring: Security Guard in Bridgeport

Overview

Join Optimus Health Care, the largest provider of primary health care services in Fairfield County with locations in Bridgeport, Stratford, and Stamford. Our team-based model of care emphasizes kindness, compassion, and patient-centered service. We are recruiting a Full Time Security Guard for our Bridgeport, CT location.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Maintain the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Operate the security system and lights in the health center; unlock doors for staff entry; secure and lock buildings at close of business.
• Follow Evacuation instructions as directed by the Director of Facilities.
• Work according to the schedule set at the weekly department staff meeting; attend department and staff meetings.
• Comply with the organization’s mission and Infection Control, OSHA, and DPH regulations.
• Maintain appropriate attendance and perform miscellaneous duties as required by management.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant public safety codes and security procedures.
• Attention to environment, premises, and small details; strong situational awareness.
• Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform tasks.
• Ability to read and follow instructions; ability to interact tactfully with patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Respect for patients, including those with impaired cognition.

Education

• High school graduate preferred or GED.

Experience

• One to two years’ experience as security personnel.
• Flexibility to work days, weekends and evenings as required.
• Flexibility to work at multiple sites.

Licensure / Certification

• Connecticut driver’s license required.
• Active guard card issued by the State of Connecticut.

Language

• Bi-Lingual preferred (Spanish) but not required.
