We are currently seeking an *experienced A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (IA)* to join our team at our San Angelo, TX location. *Position Summary*
The A&P Mechanic with IA is responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on single- and twin-engine piston aircraft. This individual exercises their IA authority to return aircraft to service following major repairs and ensures compliance with all applicable FAA regulations and company procedures.
Candidates must be *self-motivated and willing to do whatever it takes (within legal limits) to get the job done according to schedule*, while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety. Experience working in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment is *required* for this role.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on single- and twin-engine piston aircraft. * Exercise IA authority to inspect, approve, and return aircraft to service following major repairs and annual/100-hour inspections. * Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in aircraft systems and components. * Utilize maintenance manuals, schematics, technical drawings, and other documentation to perform assigned tasks. * Ensure all work performed meets FAA standards and is properly documented. * Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
*Qualifications*
* FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate with *Inspection Authorization (IA) required*. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and repair. * Experience working in a *FAA Part 145 repair station environment (required)*. * Hands-on experience with piston engines and thorough understanding of single- and twin-engine piston aircraft systems. * Basic avionics knowledge (preferred but not required). * Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to do what it takes to meet deadlines and maintain schedule. * Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. * High school diploma or equivalent required; welding certification a plus. * Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods of time. * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
