Senior Cybersecurity Engineer . In this role, you will develop and implement advanced security solutions that protect critical systems, networks, and data against the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled individual who thrives in both software and hardware environments to drive defensive cyber measures. You will engage in cutting-edge research on emerging cyber threats, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure that operational systems maintain resilience against potential cyber exploits. Your expertise will support our NRO cyber operations group or Industrial Control Systems group, collaborating closely with Information Security Offices. Primary Responsibilities Analyze cyber threat trends, vulnerabilities, and exploits to proactively assess risks to critical mission systems. Design and implement defensive cybersecurity measures protecting data, networks, and applications. Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, fuzzing, and malware analysis to identify and mitigate security risks. Enhance the security of development environments through application security architecture and evaluations for compliance. Work collaboratively with development, IT, and operations teams to integrate security throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) and CI/CD pipelines. Detect and respond to cyber incidents, leading investigation and remediation efforts. Ensure that all cyber solutions comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain detailed documentation of security architecture, findings, and mitigation strategies. Basic Qualifications Active TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, along with over 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. Proven background in application development with experience in programming and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, Assembly, or Java. Strong expertise in both offensive and defensive cybersecurity practices. Experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and malware analysis. Knowledge of code analysis, manipulation, and payload development. Skill in developing defensive tools, threat detection, and incident response strategies. Working knowledge of web application vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and fuzzing techniques. Experience conducting cyber threat intelligence research to stay ahead of emerging technologies and threats. Familiarity with secure software development practices and development environment hardening. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions independently. Experience leading technical projects or mentoring junior staff in high-impact environments. Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, GREM, GPEN, CISSP, or CEH are a plus. Experience with reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, Radare2, or x64dbg. Proficiency in automation and exploit development scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, or Perl). Experience in threat emulation, red/blue team operations, or offensive cyber tool development. Familiarity with cyber research methodologies and proof-of-concept development. Understanding of advanced persistent threats (APTs) and nation-state cyber tactics. Experience in environments requiring compliance with RMF, NIST 800-53, or STIGs. Prior experience supporting DoD, federal agencies, or classified environments is advantageous. $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 This pay range is a general guideline and factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, and market alignment will influence the final offer.
