Executive Director

The Madison Housing Authority (MHA) is currently accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. As a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated Moving to Work (MTW) Public Housing Authority (PHA), MHA operates within the Borough of Madison, Morris County, New Jersey. The agency manages 329 project-based voucher developments and administers 194 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. Additionally, MHA oversees a HUD grant-funded Family Self-Sufficiency program aimed at promoting economic independence among residents. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in managing and administering housing programs, a strong understanding of HUD regulations that govern PHAs, and proven skills in capital project planning and fiscal management. The role demands initiative and the ability to lead innovative programs and strategies effectively. The Executive Director position is governed by New Jersey Administrative Code § 5:44-3.1 and requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a related field, along with at least five years of managerial experience.
