Job Description: GIS Enterprise Web Solutions Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Enterprise Web Solutions Specialist to design, develop, and manage web-based geospatial applications and enterprise GIS systems. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in GIS, web design, and application development to deliver innovative, user-friendly, and secure geospatial solutions that meet mission and stakeholder requirements outlined in the RFQ.
The GIS Enterprise Web Solutions Specialist will play a key role in building and maintaining enterprise GIS web applications, supporting geospatial data management, and ensuring system performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain web-based GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related technologies. Create interactive dashboards, story maps, and data visualization tools for diverse end users. Administer GIS servers, databases, and applications to ensure availability, reliability, and security. Integrate geospatial applications with enterprise IT systems and cloud-based services. Implement user-centered design principles to improve usability and accessibility of GIS applications. Support metadata development, documentation, and quality assurance for GIS web services and applications. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance GIS web capabilities. Provide user training, outreach, and technical support to maximize adoption and effectiveness of GIS web applications. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Web Design/Development, or related field (Master’s preferred). 6+ years of professional experience in GIS web application design, development, and administration. 10+ years of experience required without a degree. Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and web mapping APIs (JavaScript, Python, REST). Experience administering GIS servers, web services, and spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle). Strong skills in web design, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive frameworks. Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure). Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with federal agencies (DHS, DoD, USGS, NGA, or similar). Knowledge of federal geospatial standards and accessibility requirements. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience developing secure applications in compliance with cybersecurity standards (RMF, FedRAMP). Relevant technical certifications (Esri, AWS, Azure, web development). Security Clearance
TS/SCI clearance required.
