A classroom opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher at an elementary school in Fairborn, OH. This contract position covers the current school year (CSY) and requires a dedicated professional to support students with diverse learning needs through comprehensive individualized instruction.

Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field Valid Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, or K-12 depending on student population) Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes Ability to deliver individualized instruction with accommodations and modifications Experience with progress monitoring, data collection, and formative assessments Proficiency in behavior management strategies Strong collaboration skills with general education staff and families Effective communication and documentation abilities Preferred: Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field Experience in inclusive education, co-teaching, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Training in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive curriculum tools Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards Extended (OLSE) for students with significant cognitive disabilities Bilingual or multilingual skills Responsibilities: Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Deliver direct instruction and targeted interventions addressing academic, social-emotional, and functional skills Adapt curriculum and assessments to meet individualized student needs Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusion and co-teaching initiatives Use data to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Administer academic and behavioral assessments and manage Behavior Intervention Plans Facilitate IEP meetings, Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs), 504 meetings, and maintain thorough documentation Communicate consistently with parents or guardians regarding student development Apply assistive technology and specialized instructional methods Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations Participate in ongoing professional development and training Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible employees) 401(k) retirement plan with company match This role is suited for a passionate special education professional committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment.
