Special Education Reading Specialist | West Chester, Pennsylvania

A Reading Specialist role is available to support elementary students in developing strong literacy skills. This position is based in West Chester, PA, and offers a contract for the current school year (CSY). Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted reading interventions and support to students needing additional assistance Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement literacy strategies Assess student reading levels and progress to tailor instruction effectively Design and lead small group or individual sessions focused on fluency, comprehension, and phonics Utilize a variety of instructional materials and assessment tools to enhance reading development Monitor student progress and communicate results with educators and parents Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in literacy education Desired Qualifications: Proven experience as a Reading Specialist or in a similar literacy support role Strong understanding of literacy development and instructional methods for elementary students Ability to conduct assessments and interpret data to inform instruction Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with educators, students, and families Appropriate certification or credentials for Reading Specialist support within elementary education Commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment Location: West Chester, PA
