The Territory Manager (TM) manages the demand creation and sales of Trus Joist-engineered lumber products in single-family residential and high-density housing market segments. This role reports to the Northwest Region Manager and is in the state of Washington. Responsibilities
Represent and role model the company’s safety, ethics, and professionalism values. Develop and implement a territory strategy that maximizes opportunity for success, focuses on the Seattle metro market, and partners with another territory manager. Drive sales and profit by creating primary product demand by working with builders, dealers, the design community, and building officials. Focus on selling solutions to generate profit. Develop and deliver customer-specific solutions that quantifiably demonstrate value and improved returns for the builder. Develop and nurture both new relationships and partners closely with long-established customers at the appropriate levels to ensure mutual respect. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the construction channel. Provide product and solution knowledge training/education to builders, design community, dealers, distributors, and building officials aligned with the Trus Joist training program. Maintain a strong knowledge of residential construction, technical and design concepts regarding value creation to the builder. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. 2-3 years overall experience with 1-2 years in sales, engineering, or related industry. Must live or be willing to relocate to the state of Washington. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), able to convey ideas clearly and persuasively. Understanding of residential construction, technical and design concepts related to value creation for builders. Strong business acumen, financial competency, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated creativity in problem solving and solution development. Strong consultative selling ability with working knowledge of levers to drive results to meet sales strategy and profitability targets. This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, with a targeted salary range of $74,600 to $133,500 based on skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Sales Incentive plan targeting 25% of base salary, paid out quarterly based on market performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and a pre-tax Health Savings Account option with company contribution. Other benefits include voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. We support personal volunteerism, sponsor diversity networks, promote mentoring, and provide training and development opportunities. Retirement: 401(k) with company match in addition to an annual contribution equal to 5% of base salary. Paid Time Off: Eligible employees scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week receive 3 weeks of paid vacation in the first year, with accrual after six months.
