Overview

Receptionist – Veterinary Front Desk at Northside Veterinary Clinic in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This role is the knowledgeable, welcoming face at the front desk, delivering client-focused service while communicating in the language of veterinary care. Responsibilities include assisting with vaccines, explaining procedures, and coordinating appointments to support smoother visits and stronger client relationships.

Salary: $24-$27/hr based on experience and skill set.
Schedule: Typically 4-5 days per week; must be able to work some Saturdays in rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact: Greet clients and their pets warmly, complete the sign-in process, verify and confirm appointment details, and ensure clients feel informed and reassured.
• Support clinical flow: Escort clients to exam rooms, and relay key information between clients and clinical staff.
• Manage client communications: Handle incoming calls for appointments, care questions, prescription refills, and reminders; make outbound calls for follow-ups.
• Operate with accuracy: Process payments, manage invoicing, and schedule future appointments with attention to detail.
• Speak the language: Understand and clearly communicate about vaccines, lab tests, procedures, and veterinary terminology.
• Create a welcoming space: Maintain a clean, organized front desk area and assist with pet-related clean-up as needed to ensure a pleasant experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a medical or veterinary front desk, receptionist, or administrative assistant role
• Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
• Ability to discuss sensitive topics (e.g., end-of-life care, financial discussions) with empathy
• Calm, professional, and positive demeanor
