Overview As a member of the Americas Business Capture team, the Senior Sales Director supports the functional area of sales and business development for GE Aerospace’s defense engines business segment. In this role, you will identify growth opportunities and lead sales campaigns to capture new original equipment and services business. The Senior Sales Director will also serve as a product sales expert as needed. In addition to domestic markets, this role will have some international and Foreign Military Sales exposure. Seeking those with a sufficient technical background and strong communication skills to confidently represent Defense products and services to government, armed forces and aircraft OEM customers.

Note - Preferred location is at a GE Aerospace facility in Cincinnati, OH or Lynn, MA. Will also consider exceptionally qualified remote candidates in the United States.

Roles & Responsibilities

Direct major cross functional campaigns and pursuits for defense engine programs

Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities driving growth

Represent military engine and systems product lines to position our products and services successfully in the military market

Build influential relationships with customers at all levels

Establish detailed customer contact plans to position our products and services successfully

Develop and execute opportunity pursuit / capture plans

Manage the development of numerous, complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts

Lead or support negotiations as needed to close deals

Manage CRM systems tracking pursuits and opportunities

Provide commercial and technical expertise within the defense engine market segment

Support division input for operating planning and forecasting

Assist in the development and execution of an overall growth strategy for military engine and systems products/services

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

A minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace / defense industry business development, sales, marketing, commercial operations or program / account management

Ability to travel 25%-50% as needed to meet job requirements

Desired Characteristics

Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field

Prior experience with aircraft engines or aircraft mission/vehicle subsystems would be beneficial

Prior sales experience in leading aerospace/defense OEM pursuits

Prior experience managing proposals

Prior experience working with aircraft services

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong influencing and relationship building skills

Sound people management and decision-making skills

Strong customer focus and results-oriented mindset

Compensation & Benefits The base pay range for this position is 152,000.00 - 203,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
