Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments across all grade levels K-12. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and educational standards. Utilize adaptive teaching methods and specialized materials to enhance accessibility. Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress and inclusion. Conduct functional vision assessments and recommend appropriate assistive technologies. Advocate for students' needs and promote awareness of visual impairments within the school community. Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure in Visual Impairment or related endorsement. Experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in K-12 settings. Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning needs and facilitate inclusive education. Location: Position is based in Katy, Texas within a K-12 school. Contract Details: This is a full school year contract position.
