Seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in a school setting north of Dallas, Texas. This part-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and services that enhance the educational experience and accessibility for students with visual impairments throughout the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
Provide consultative support to classroom teachers and staff to adapt materials and strategies.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
Collaborate with educational teams and families to create individualized education plans (IEPs).
Utilize assistive technology and resources to facilitate learning and independence.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
Strong knowledge of special education practices and accommodations.
Ability to conduct formal and informal evaluations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
