A contracted Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the current school year at an elementary school located in Tracy, CA. This role is essential in providing effective communication support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students and teachers using American Sign Language (ASL) during classroom instruction and school activities. Interpret lessons, conversations, and communications in real-time to support students understanding and participation. Collaborate with educators, staff, and parents to accommodate communication needs and enhance learning outcomes. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Adapt interpretation techniques to suit various classroom settings and student requirements. Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter. Previous experience interpreting in an educational setting, preferably at the elementary level. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families. Knowledge of deaf education practices and sensitivity to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a supportive learning environment. Valid certification or credentials in sign language interpreting is preferred.
