Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new sales leads within their territory and proactively grow business with existing clients. Position requires regular travel away from branch office. Responsibilities
Manage Business Development activities across assigned territory Partner with Account Managers (inside sales) to develop sales strategies to meet goals Identify new accounts, retain existing clients and develop sales within existing accounts Represent Pencom in client meetings with integrity, professionalism and with expert knowledge of company products and services Manage contract negotiations, quality complaints, and introductions or referrals to other Pencom business units Provide product samples and marketing materials to clients. May deliver orders to client as needed. Partner with clients engineering staff for new product designs or sustaining engineering issues Work with internal engineering and procurement to respond to RFQs, and develop pricing strategies to meet client requests Maintain excellent cold calling efforts to drive business into new accounts and territories Report account and sales activities to Pencom management Provide metrics and reporting tools to Branch Managers Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice by management Qualifications
Must have Fasteners/Manufacturing or Industrial Sales experience Proven experience in outside sales Excellent phone and in-person sales presentation skills Able to manage competing priorities to meet client needs Ability to coach and mentor Account Managers towards achieving sales targets Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in English Proficiency with computer software including MS Office, Order Management System, etc. Language: English is the primary language. Additional languages are a plus for both spoken and written ability. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Math: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Location: Must live in Wisconsin or Minnesota areas Experience/Education: HS Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline preferred; 5-7 years of in-field sales/business development, preferably in mechanical components or fastener industry; experience in calling on OEM and CM accounts required; mechanical component background preferred; manufacturing or distribution sales preferred; CNC machine and/or sheet metal fabrication experience would be considered Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually #J-18808-Ljbffr
