Senior Software Engineer PHP (Laravel + WordPress)
4 days a week on site in Los Angeles (flexible start/end times if needed)

This onsite role focuses on building robust backend systems in Laravel and WordPress, with collaboration on modern frontend projects. The ideal candidate is a PHP expert first and foremost, with experience delivering scalable applications and integrations, and values collaboration, communication, and long-term growth with the team.
This is an onsite role (4 days per week, 1 day remote) designed to maintain a vibrant and inclusive team culture.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable applications in Laravel and WordPress Contribute to frontend projects using React or Angular (bonus if youve worked with Next.js) Develop and integrate APIs between backend systems and external services Deploy and manage applications on AWS (Fargate, Lambda, S3, etc.) Implement and maintain containerized environments using Docker Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-quality, user-friendly features Ensure reliability and quality with testing, documentation, and peer reviews Stay current on emerging tools and approaches, including AI-assisted development workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) Qualifications
5+ years of PHP experience
with deep expertise in Laravel and WordPress Hands-on experience scaling and customizing WordPress at the plugin/theme level Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL a plus) Frontend experience with React or Angular (Next.js or TypeScript is a bonus) Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on AWS Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (GitHub Actions, Docker) Exposure to AI tools for coding or automation (Cursor, Devin, Claude Code, etc.) Solid grasp of security, SEO, and accessibility best practices Excellent soft skills you communicate well, collaborate effectively, and value being part of a supportive team Proven tenure and track record of delivering results over time Why Join
