Overview

Receiving and Inventory Control Lead at Gibraltar Industries. The role oversees receiving, inspection, and storage of raw materials, components, and supplies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to support production schedules and maintain material availability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of the receiving area: unload, inspect, and accurately record all raw materials, components, and supplies. Verify shipments against purchase orders and material specifications; document and report discrepancies to procurement and quality control. Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines to meet manufacturing schedules. Maintain organized and labeled storage for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Perform regular inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations to maintain system accuracy and prevent shortages. Monitor usage of raw materials and update inventory systems for real-time production planning data. Supervise, train, and mentor receiving and inventory staff, promoting safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry regulations (OSHA and company standards). Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely. Collaborate with QA, Production, and Procurement to resolve inventory or material flow issues quickly. Generate reports on material availability, inventory accuracy, and performance metrics for management review. Follow safety requirements, wear PPE, and follow environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedures. Participate in process improvements and other operational activities. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma 3+ years in manufacturing receiving or inventory control, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role. Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, BOMs, and production scheduling. Technical Skills

Forklift certification Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for inventory and materials management. Core Competencies

Able to lift 50 lbs, stand and walk on the manufacturing floor for extended periods. Work Conditions
