Insight Global is seeking a VMware Engineer to work for our Fortune 250 manufacturing client. This person will be part of a lean team of 3-4 individuals and will oversee a 3,000+ virtual server environment. They will work with internal (80%) and external customers (20%), perform troubleshooting on the VMware environment, and set up, configure, and optimize data store clusters. The role requires proficiency in IaC, Visual Basic, and VCF. The candidate should have a passion for system enhancements and administration using best practices and modern security understandings. Responsibilities
Perform live migrations and disaster recovery operations Administer mostly Windows-based servers Automation and scripting using IaC and Visual Basic Troubleshoot across vCenter, ESXi, and NSX-T layers Set up vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager Use Visual Basic for tasks such as scripting and automating Windows-based server tasks Manage Active Directory and IIS configurations Perform basic inventory operations in vSphere environments Use IaC to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of virtual infrastructure in vSphere, vCenter, and NSX-T environments Configuration management and monitoring with tools like vCops to ensure clusters are optimized and compliant Design and deploy VCF stacks tailored to enterprise needs Set up vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager Ensure security compliance and assist with automation scripting Seniority level
