The Call Center/New Referral Specialist is an important ambassador for our organization. This individual's job functions set the first and lasting impression for our group. As such this person must possess the following skills and abilities:
Patient empathy and compassion
Ability to handle large call volume / managing time on calls
Willingness to work as a team player to meet the common goals of the organization
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
Possess great data entry skills
Prior experience working with Orthopaedics and/or Practice Management Software proficiency a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, families, staff and others in a professional manner
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Must have high level of discretion and judgment
High School Diploma or equivalent. Spanish speaking a plus
Must be reliable and punctual
With those skills and abilities the Call Center/New Referral Specialist will, among other assigned tasks:
Provide a friendly and professional telephonic greeting for callers
Complete all call-center related tasks (answering and routing calls, checking and responding to voicemail, call-back patients, etc.)
Coordinate new patient appointments, follow-up patient appointment requests to reschedule/cancel, reschedule patient appointments when doctors are unavailable
Create new records and accounts for patients
Provide a friendly, neat and presentable reception area for patients
This is a full-time, Monday - Friday position with the hours of 8am-5pm.
