Overview
System and Network Administrator II with Security Clearance Mid-level position requiring relevant experience in systems installation, administration, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and validation of IT components and services. Responsibilities
Create, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines (preferably using Microsoft Hyper-V). Manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Failover Clusters. Support a variety of mass storage arrays and RAID configurations. Use Microsoft PowerShell to automate installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and management tasks. Install servers into racks, load and configure Windows operating systems. PXE boot servers and load images with Windows Deployment Services. Replace/install RAM, hard drives, network cards, and storage cards in servers. Troubleshoot basic networking issues (e.g., IP conflicts, DNS resolution, switch port status). Evaluate the effectiveness of existing technologies and consider emerging technologies. Add, configure, and manage Roles and Features on Microsoft Server (current version) including but not limited to: File and Storage Services, Print and Document Services, Remote Desktop Services. Troubleshoot Windows Server Update Services issues; use SFC and DISM. Manage tape backup servers, libraries, and workstations; handle backups, inventory, and on-site operations, including Arcserve backup/replication. Configure and monitor systems/servers using Windows Admin Center and RSAT tools (e.g., Active Directory Users and Computers, Remote Desktop, Hyper-V Manager, Failover Cluster Manager, Windows Deployment Services). Configure and monitor SQL Servers using SQL Server Management Tools. Recognize failed hardware (drives, power supplies, components, or entire servers) and follow detailed instructions to troubleshoot and replace faulty equipment. Subject to polygraph examinations after onboarding. Qualifications
Experience with server installation, configuration, and maintenance in enterprise environments. Proficiency with virtualization (Hyper-V), Windows Server administration, and remote management tools. Knowledge of RAID/storage configurations and backup/recovery solutions. Strong scripting skills (PowerShell) to automate routine IT tasks. Experience with Windows Deployment Services, Windows Admin Center, and RSAT tools. Ability to troubleshoot network issues at basic levels (DNS, IP, switch ports). Ability to evaluate and adapt technologies in a changing environment. Job Function & Location
