The Ideal Candidate:Aspira’s Senior Database Administrator is a resource that manages, maintains, and secures data in one or more data systems that enable users and applications to perform critical business operations. Responsible for owning the data storage, compute infrastructure, organization, presentation, utilization, and security for each of the database systems for the company, which span development through to production environments, and from internal only through to customer facing environments. Playing a critical role in ensuring the backbone to countless systems remains functional and available, and enabling Aspira’s systems and users to perform their given roles, incumbent spearheads position to achieve annual department goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and deploy reliable, maintainable software features in line with project requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality web applications.
- Write clean, testable code in C#, JavaScript and SQL, and follow engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to promote code quality, consistency, and scalability.
- Help monitor, maintain, and improve system infrastructure performance in cloud environments (primarily AWS).
- Contribute to technical planning and sprint execution within an Agile development team.
- Assist in preparing the system for high-load events and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and data protection standards.
- Support onboarding of new tools and continuous improvement in development workflows.
- 8–10 years of professional experience in software development.
- Strong programming skills in C# and .Net Core. familiarity with JavaScript, React or other modern frameworks.
- Experience developing and maintaining web applications hosted on AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Strong experience with SQL Server, writing efficient stored procedures and database functions
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices.
- Expertise in API development using WCF, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Git and Visual Studio.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Github CI/CD) and DevOps concepts.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication and technical documentation skills.
- Able to collaborate across geographically diverse teams and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, S3, EC2, API Gateway, and RDS.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools like New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Exposure to SQL and relational database performance tuning.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience contributing to multiple software projects with measurable outcomes.
- Previous experience working on a development team with production-facing systems.
