JOB PURPOSE The Robotic Weld Engineer is responsible to support the development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes as they relate to robotic welding for agricultural equipment. This role ensures products are built safely, efficiently, and to quality standards by working closely with design engineers and production teams. EXPECTATIONS Continuously enhance and expand manufacturing processes using robotics, providing strategic vision, guidance, and essential resources to design, prototype, and production. Strive to provide the best products in the industry at the lowest cost. Treat people fairly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Enhance productivity, equipment usage, and boost production output and quality by refining robotic manufacturing capabilities. This involves refining methods, processes, machine design, tooling, and equipment efficiency while seamlessly integrating cutting-edge manufacturing technologies for robotics. Collaborate with design engineering, tooling specialists, and tool fabrication teams to develop and enhance product and tool designs for optimized robotic welding performance. Develop and implement standard processes for workflows in robotic cells and work with production management and personnel to drive discipline and adherence to the process. Serve as the project leader and liaison, defining timelines to efficiently coordinate activities across manufacturing production departments, logistics, and design engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of robotics within operations. Work alongside the quality team to diagnose and resolve welding and parts quality issues, ensuring reliability and compliance with standards, troubleshooting defects, and ensuring adherence to quality requirements as they pertain to robotics Collaborate with robotic programmers and technicians to assess, develop, and maintain training programs, fostering a best-in-class robotics organization. Evaluate and create specifications for future robotic purchases Design tooling, carts, skids, fixtures, etc. utilizing CAD programs. Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience A bachelor's degree in robotics, welding, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Candidates should have internship experience or up to four years of professional work in a heavy industrial setting. Five to ten years of experience in welding or robotics, particularly with systems such as Cloos, Fanuc, and IGM is preferred. Proficiency in welding techniquesMIG welding, spray transfer, and pulse weldingas well as fundamental robotic programming skills are essential. Experience using 3D CAD software required. Welding certification in MIG welding, spray transfer, and pulse techniques is desirable. Design experience with Pro-E Creo as the preferred platform. Fabrication experience is also plus.
