What You’ll Do Lead Estimating Projects: Develop detailed, accurate project estimates for architectural millwork, custom casework, upholstery, and solid-surface installations. Blueprint & Drawing Analysis: Interpret complex architectural drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to inform accurate cost projections. Materials & Labor Costing: Calculate cost components—materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors—within established quality and scheduling frameworks. Vendor & Subcontractor Engagement: Solicit, evaluate, and incorporate quotes from suppliers, ensuring competitive and reliable procurement strategies. Bid Preparation: Compile and submit professional proposals that clearly communicate scope, cost structure, and value, in alignment with company standards. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with design, engineering, and production teams to refine project scope, manage value engineering opportunities, and adjust estimates as needed. Historical Performance Review: Analyze past projects to improve estimating accuracy and forecasting for future jobs. Risk & Compliance Assessment: Identify and plan for potential cost risks, schedule impacts, and complexities specific to materials or site conditions. Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement best practices within the estimation process to boost accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction. What You Bring Industry Background: Minimum 5–7 years of estimating experience in architectural woodwork, custom millwork, casework, or related manufacturing sectors. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cost-estimating software; hands-on knowledge of wood, solid surfaces, upholstery, hardware, and related industry materials. Drawing Literacy: Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints, architectural plans, and technical shop drawings with exceptional precision. Detail-Oriented Mindset: Meticulous in scope analysis, quantity take-offs, and cost breakdowns, with sharp numerical accuracy. Collaborative Flair: Comfortable working across departments, engaging with team members to align projects from design through delivery. Strong Communication Skills: Able to convey complex estimates clearly to internal teams and clients; effective negotiation skills with vendors and stakeholders. Project Management Insight: Proven track record in meeting bid deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
